Eddystone 870 — communications receiver
The Eddystone 870 is a historic shortwave receiver, distinct from the 870A. RigReference lists four separate frequency ranges spanning 150 kHz to 18 MHz, with gaps in coverage.
Frequency ranges and operation
The documented ranges are 150–380 kHz, 540–1500 kHz, 1.95–6.3 MHz and 5.9–18 MHz. The set uses five valves and single-conversion superheterodyne AM reception. It does not transmit.
