OM1500 HF and 50 MHz amplifier
The OM Power OM1500 is a radio-frequency (RF) linear amplifier for an external transceiver. Its documentation covers high frequency (HF, or shortwave) and 50 MHz amateur operation. It increases transmitter power but contains no independent receiver.
Drive level, matching and cooling
Drive level is the input signal power delivered by the transceiver. It must remain within the operating manual’s limit, as must cooling and transmission conditions. Standing-wave ratio (SWR) indicates mismatch between an antenna and the feed line; an excessive mismatch can cause reflected power. Ratings of other amplifiers should not be substituted.
Operating precautions
Check coaxial cable, connectors, power supply and grounding before transmitting. Conditions may differ according to modulation mode and hardware revision. Internal high voltage can remain lethal after mains disconnection; maintenance requires qualified specialists.
