OM Power OM2500HF
OM Power OM2500HF historical amplifier
The OM2500HF is a historical radio-frequency (RF) linear power amplifier driven by a separate amateur transceiver. OM Power dates the model’s production from 2004. It amplifies transmission but does not contain a radio receiver.
GU84B and FU-728F hardware variants
OM Power lists different operating manuals for GU84B and FU-728F power tube versions. Both are tetrodes, four-electrode vacuum tubes designed for RF amplification. Electrical supply, tuning or maintenance instructions may differ between hardware revisions, even under one model name.
Tuning, antenna matching and safety
The amplifier output network must be tuned by the instructions for the installed unit. Standing-wave ratio (SWR) indicates possible mismatch between feed line and antenna; mismatches become particularly important at high power. Tube amplifier high-voltage supplies can remain dangerous after disconnection and must only be serviced by trained specialists.
Documentation and FCC edition
The official OM Power library lists English GU84B and FU-728F manuals and a Spanish edition. Direct PDFs for these revisions remain unverified. The OM2500HF FCC edition has different instructions.
