Lafayette HA-650 six-metre portable transceiver
The Lafayette HA-650 is a vintage solid-state amateur transceiver, combining a transmitter and receiver for portable or mobile operation in the 50–52 MHz portion of the six-metre band. Its superheterodyne receiver converts incoming signals to an intermediate frequency for filtering and amplification, while a crystal-controlled transmitter supports up to six selectable frequencies.
Power rating and supply
The original manual specifies 2.5 watts of input power to the final radio-frequency stage; this must not be presented as measured RF output power. The radio accepts ten 1.5 V D-size batteries or an external 12 V DC supply. Its original Lafayette stock number is 99-2570WX.
